Executive Board Meeting!

Hi guys!

Next week on Tuesday, May 6th, there will be an executive board meeting in C302. If anyone is interested in becoming a board member for the 2014-2015 school year, we strongly encourage you to attend this meeting. It will give you an opportunity to see how meetings are run and how to plan for activities for the general club. 

We understand that the timing is inconvenient as it is in the middle of AP testing. If you have a test that afternoon and are interested in board membership for next year, send an email to the address below.

Science Bowl!

Welcome to the Science Bowl! This is a friendly academic competition between students of SBHS to test your knowledge of science. 

Guidelines

Groups

• Each group must have 4 members - no more, and no less.
• Entry for club members is free, and entry for non-club members is $5.

Rules for the competition

• The competition will begin with a short test to be taken by the individuals in the group to establish seating.
• The average score of the group will be used to determine rankings.
• The first round will consist of each team competing in two matches against two other teams.
• The teams with the best win-to-loss ratios will move on.
• Teams will be placed in a bracket. Only the winning team will move on to the next match.

Rules during each round

• Questions will come from the topics: biology, chemistry, physics, and potpourri of all sciences.
• The first team to buzz in will be given the opportunity to answer first, but you must have an answer prepared before buzzing.
• For each correct answer, the team will be awarded a point. The team with the most points wins the match.
• Discrepancies in answers will be settled by a judge. His/Her ruling is final.

Dance-a-Thon Cake/Waffle-Pop Sale!!

Hi Guys!

Happy new year and we hoped everyone had a great break. 

Next week we will be having a Cake/Waffle-Pop sale  at the Dance-a-Thon for the Hugs for Brady Foundation. We need to make most of the pops in advance, so we will be staying after school on Thursday. If anyone is interested in either helping make the food or sell it at the dance-a-thon, go to the website below and follow the instructions.
